Yaxham Light Railway

No. 3 Pest - is of the same type of Lister ‘Rail-truck’ as No 2, (works No 40011), being delivered to the same site in 1954, where it was immediately re-engined  as No 2, with engines from Scammell 3-wheeled ‘Mechanical Horses’.

This loco followed the same career as No 2, also arriving at Yaxham in 1975, when regauged and fitted with a J.A.P. petrol engine from a Lister Autotruck, sufficient original parts were also found to enable a canopy to be constructed.

Pest is seen here near Winburgh Halt on a winter day

In 1978 another engine change took place, when an early Crossley 6hp water-cooled diesel engine was fitted. In 1980 the loco’s fifth engine was fitted (at this time the name was applied!), being a Petter 5½hp air-cooled diesel unit.
